We are thrilled that the Oak Foundation has recently joined the Walmart Foundation, Boston University, the National Center for PTSD, and the Texas Veterans Commission in supporting the continued growth and development of the WoVeN program.

The Oak Foundation’s generosity will support WoVeN in our efforts to extend the reach of WoVeN as a national community for women Veterans. WoVeN has grown leaps and bounds in the last two years since its inception, and we are so grateful to our supporters for believing in WoVeN’s mission of increasing social connectedness among women Veterans nationwide.

The award from the Oak Foundation will support WoVeN’s new Train-the-Trainer program to be held in April 2019! During the first day of this exciting program, current WoVeN peer leaders will be trained by WoVeN’s directors to become WoVeN trainers. On the second and third day of training, these new WoVeN trainers will get a chance to practice what they have learned by training women Veterans from over 20 new WoVeN cities to be peer leaders!

This partnership and program is an exciting push forward in WoVeN’s mission to create a sustainable network for women Veterans locally and nationally to enhance wellness, relationships, and connection while building a community specifically for women Veterans.
